Dear Sophia,

Can you believe we made our own ice cream?! My hands got really cold shaking the bag, but it was worth it. The ice cream turned out delicious! If anyone else wants to try it, here is what you have to do:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup rock salt
  • 1 pint-size Ziploc
  • 1 gallon-size Ziploc
  • Ice cubes
Just put the first three ingredients in the smaller bag, and the salt and ice cubes in the big bag. Seal the small bag carefully into the larger bag and shake it around for about five minutes. It should thicken up like soft-serve ice cream! If your hands get cold, you can hold it with a dishtowel.

Leesia and Lilly thought our ice cream was delicious! Next time maybe we can add strawberries!

XOXOX,

Scarlet

PS Look at this picture I found! It's Lilly and me playing with the Bilibos...don't we look hilarious?

Dear Scarlet,

There is nothing better than a summer trip to Chick-fil-a. They have the best cold lemonade and you can even trade in your toy for ice cream. Mama loves it because it is clean and they are very friendly. I hope we can go back soon to play in the playplace. Scarlet, do you remember when we were only three years old? We were afraid to go in the playplace because it was so big! Isn't that funny? We have really grown up in the last year, now we are tall and brave and love the big slide. Leesia and Lilly loved it too! Yay Chick-fil-a!

XOXOXO,
Sophia

Dear Ahmama and Papa,

We had so much fun visiting you at your house. We love swimming in the pool, the temperature was perfect-not too hot and not too cold. We also loved taking walks with Papa and working the big yarn puzzle with you, Ahmama! But our very favorite part of our visit was going to the blueberry farm to pick fresh blueberries. They were so yummy that it was hard to remember to actually put some in the bucket. Delicious!

We hope to come back and swim again soon before it gets too cool. We love you!

XOXOXO,
Scarlet & Sophia

PS Here are some photos of us picking blueberries and when we pretended that Leesia and Lilly had won a race!

STROLLER BEFORE
Dear Mama,

Thank you so much for re-doing our doll strollers. They had gotten so old and worn out that they we couldn't really play with them anymore. It was so neat that you found a tutorial that showed how to recover them with fun fabric to make them like new again! If any of our "fans" are interested, here is a simple Doll Stroller Re-fashion Tutorial

Now Leesia and Lilly can ride around again and we can take them anywhere. We love the green and pink fabrics and we can tell whose is whose so easily too. Thanks Mama!

XOXOXO,
Scarlet & Sophia

PS Here is a picture of Sophia waiting for her stroller make-over. She decided to carry Leesia in a doll wrap in the meantime!

Dear Sophia,

Mama found a really pretty sheet at Goodwill. She says some people think it is weird to buy old bedding, but she says you just need to think of it as "upcycling vintage finds"! The sheet she bought is super soft and comfy and will make great dresses! All we have to do is lay down to help her measure the length and then wait for her to sew them up. We can just show off our pink and purple toenail polish while we are waiting!

I guess we were too wiggly, because Mama says the dresses weren't supposed to be maxi length. Oh well, they will fit us for a looooong time! Of course, she also had time to make too little dresses for Leesia and Lilly, don't they look adorable?

XOXOXO,
Scarlet

PS Did you hear all the fireworks last night? They kept waking me up, but I couldn't see them out the window....I guess some people didn't realize that last night was only the 3rd....... Happy 4th of July!

 Dear Scarlet,

I keep trying to tell Mom and Dad that the zoo is always fun even when it is SUPER HOT! Today we got to see almost everything, even the koalas were awake today! But my favorite animals are the giraffes...I just love feeding them lettuce. They are so funny when they lean way down to eat it! They have really really long tongues too. Leesia and Lilly were a little afraid of them, but they are actually really gentle as long as you don't try to pet their noses.

Tomorrow is July 4th! Mama says that is when we celebrate our freedom and independence. Daddy gets to stay home from work an extra day and we are going to hang out with him all day! The summer is so much fun!

XOXOXO,
Sophia
