Happy Easter!

Dear Scarlet,

Did you know that Easter is this weekend? We will get to wear our new dresses to church and maybe have an Easter Egg hunt! Mama says that Easter is not really about bunnies or eggs, though. She says that it is remembering Jesus' death and resurrection, which is when he came back to life three days later! It's hard to understand, but we read this in the Bible: "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me will live, even if he dies'..." (John 11:25)

Spring is my favorite time of year. I am so glad that the weather is finally getting warmer! We will even get to go swimming pretty soon. Leesia and Lilly love coming with us to the park and picking flowers. We even have sippy cups for them when they get thirsty....you have to stay hydrated when it is hot outside!

Dear Sophia,

Today Mama had a lot to do so she really needed our help! She was amazed that you and I and Leesia and Lilly "snapped" the whole bowl full of green beans. She said it was a really big help. Those green beans tasted so yummy with our dinner, even better because we helped to cook them. Mama says that we are going to start getting tons of fresh vegetables from a local farm, so we will have lots of veggie prep to help with in the next couple of months! Maybe we can even visit the farm sometime soon!

Dear Scarlet,

I love finger-painting! Did you see my hand prints...I tried to put a different color paint on every finger! Even though Mama freaks out a little about having two kids with paint all over their hands in her kitchen, she loves to see the artwork that we make. Mama says that we are very creative and she wishes she had room to display all of our masterpieces!

Leesia and Lilly like to paint also! They said next time, could we please try realism art because we have this abstract stuff down pat. Also, they don't like getting their hands wet, so maybe next time we can use paintbrushes.

Dear Leesia and Lilly,

We missed you so much while we were on our trip. Mama says next time you can both come along when we visit Ahmama and Papa's house. But we had a really nice time visiting and we got to go to a pretty pond with ducks. There was also an old Fire Engine that we could play in! It was lots of fun.


At 9 o'clock you are invited to our extra special castle party! While Mama is mopping the kitchen floor, we can use all the kitchen chairs to make a big tent. We can imagine that the tent is a fancy castle. Don't forget, the dress code is very fancy. We will all be princesses today.

Dear Sophia,

Today we get to make cookies. Mama says that these cookies are very healthy and we will think they are very yummy too. Let's try them!

Leesia and Lilly's cookies

3 bananas, mashed

2 cups oatmeal

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/8 cup coconut flakes

1/3 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

1 chopped apple

A sprinkle of craisins and a few mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325. Mix all ingredients together, refrigerate dough for 30 minutes, then drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet. (These also make nice bar cookies). Bake for 20 minutes or until slightly crispy.

Dear Scarlet & Sophia,

Thank you for making the spot beneath your new beds so cozy, we love our new "playspots". The pillows are so comfy and the flower lights are really cute! It's the perfect place to read a little or to just take a rest. In fact, we invited some of our other doll friends to come over and play! They think that our playspot is super nice too. We told them to watch out for Dessy, though, because that beagle finds our cozy little spot irresistible as well! There's nothing worse than waking up from a nap to discover a dog lying on your face....

Even though we have our own spot to read, we love it when you read to us on the top bunk. It is so exciting to be up there with you and listen to stories.

Dear Scarlet,

Grocery shopping is WAY more fun when you and I push the carts. Mama should just drop us off at the front door with the grocery list and we could take care of the whole trip! Leesia and Lilly love riding in the cart, but I had to tell Leesia to sit down several times. It's NEVER safe to stand in the grocery cart, even if you are trying to reach the cookies! Bananas, bagels, and Chocolate Almond Milk....YUM! And mama said we can bake banana bread tomorrow!

Dear Sophia,

It's really true! We got our new bunk beds...I can't believe it! Mama says we have to be very careful because we are up kind of high, but this is so much fun. And we have so much more room now. Daddy says it's a good thing we like them because he is never taking them apart again. Mama says that Leesia and Lilly can have a little "house" underneath our beds. We might be able to decorate it and make it pretty for them later this week!

This will be our first night in our new beds...I might just be so excited that I can't sleep!

Dear Sophia & Scarlet,

Guess what I found? The little preemie dresses that you wore for your very first Thanksgiving. You were six weeks old, but you were still so tiny! I can't believe how big you are now and how much you have grown up. It's hard to remember just how little your were only four years ago! Here is a picture of you in your very first "fancy" dresses. You were so precious and tiny, I must have kissed your little cheeks 100 times a day!

I thought it would be fun to see if Lilly & Leesia could wear your little pink dresses. Look, they fit! Aren't they adorable? Scarlet and Sophia, don't forget, I love you both and you will always be my little baby girls!

Dear Scarlet,

Just think of all the fun things we can do when it is Spring. We can play in the rain, sit in the sunshine, visit the botanical gardens, wear our flip-flops, eat lots of strawberries, and see the butterflies at the kids' museum! It will be soooo fun. Mama said there is still more winter left, but that it will be getting warm pretty soon because we live in the South. As a matter of fact, today was beautiful! It was warm and sunny and I was so excited that we got to go to the park. It was so nice to just lie down in the sunshine. Leesia and Lilly got covered in grass, but it was totally worth it. Spring really is right around the corner....
